Overview
All products sold by Yuppie Chef Style are covered by a warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to your statutory consumer rights under South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act. This page explains what’s covered, for how long, and how to make a claim for each of our three brands: Field Bar, SMEG and Stanley.
Field Bar cooler boxes
Field Bar cooler boxes and drink boxes carry a 12-month warranty from date of delivery against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship — for example, faulty seals, latches, hinges or insulation failure under normal use. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, drops, impact, exposure to open flame or heat sources, or normal wear and tear (fading, scuffing) from outdoor use.
SMEG appliances
SMEG appliances (kettles, toasters, blenders, coffee machines, cookers, fridges, freezers and microwaves) are covered by SMEG’s standard manufacturer warranty, which is typically 24 months from date of purchase for domestic appliances, in addition to our own returns window for faults found shortly after delivery. Retain your order confirmation as proof of purchase, as it will be required for any manufacturer warranty claim.
For faults that appear shortly after delivery, contact us first and we will handle the claim on your behalf. For faults arising later in the warranty period, we will point you to SMEG’s authorised local service channel and assist with the claim where we can.
Stanley drinkware
Stanley tumblers, cups and bottles carry a 12-month warranty from date of delivery against manufacturing defects such as insulation failure (a tumbler that stops keeping drinks cold/hot as intended), faulty lids or seals, or coating defects. This warranty does not cover cosmetic wear from normal use (scratches, dents from drops), or damage from dishwasher use where the product is hand-wash only.
What’s not covered
- Damage caused by accident, misuse, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s care instructions
- Normal wear and tear (scuffs, fading, minor scratches)
- Products purchased second-hand or from an unauthorised reseller
- Cosmetic issues that don’t affect how the product functions
How to make a warranty claim
Email info@yuppiechefstyle.co.za with your order number, a description of the fault, and photos or a short video showing the issue. We’ll confirm next steps — repair, replacement or refund — within 2 business days. Depending on the product and fault, you may be asked to send the item back to us or, for SMEG appliances, directly to an authorised service centre.
How this relates to our returns policy
This warranty applies for the full period stated above. It sits alongside, and does not replace, your right to return a faulty item under our Refund and Returns Policy shortly after delivery, or your statutory rights under South African consumer law.
